課程要求
[Rules for General Seminar] (Updated, May 24 2020)

1. Please email your title and two research papers before February 25 2019 to: hxchang@ntu.edu.tw, with a clear email title [Seminar-student ID]
2. Please submit your abstract to the CEIBA, one-week in advance to the presentation day. Please discuss with your supervisor and confirm the abstract, tittle and the two research papers before the submission.
3. Please email your abstract and two main references one week in advance to the presentation day
4. Printout at least 40 hard copies of your abstract and distribute among the classmates and teachers before the presentation start.
5. The seminar course will be started on March 5. The first class will briefly go through seminar rules and determine the presentation order. Students should be present for drawing. The order will be randomly assigned for students not showing up in the first class. The seminar talk will begin on March 19.
6. Present two original research articles or one review and one original research on the same topic. The original research should be recent publication in SCI journals within 3-5 years.
7. Please submit your presentation report within three weeks, after the presentation. The presentation report should include a title, your abstract, background/introduction, material and methods, results and discussion, and conclusion and future perspectives. Audience's questions in your oral presentation should be covered and answered in the presentation report.

8. Final written report for your own presentation (Please upload it to CEIBA within three weeks after your presentation)
8.1 Report of the general seminar talk: At least 3,000 words, including:
- Title
- Presenter’s name and advisor’s name
- Abstract
- Main contents: research motivation and background, experimental designs, materials and methods, results, discussion, and references (format of Phytopathology)
8.2 Report of research proposal presentation: At least 3,000 words, including:
- Title
- Presenter’s name and advisor’s name
- Abstract
- Main contents: research motivation and background, previous studies, references (format of Phytopathology)
8.3 Questions and answers: List all the questions raised by the audience after your presentation, and provide complete and detailed answers to the questions.

9. Other final reports for the seminar course (Please upload it to CEIBA by July 5, 2020)
9.1 Perception report: Choose 10 presentations of your interest, and write down what you learned from the talks and your personal perspectives (the report for each talk: at least 1/3 A4 page, font size 12, single space). For Ph.D. students, the report should include all the talks presented in English.
9.2 Report of the involvement of discussion: Please list all of your question(s) and the speakers’ responses and answers.
9.3 Report of the attendance: Please provide the details of your class attendance including your late arrival date (with the arrival time), ask-for-leave date, and absence date without leave.

10. Format for Abstract as follows:
(1) Times New Roman.
(2) Title: size 16 pt, bold, centre.
(3) The margins should set at 1” on all sides.
(4) Your name and the supervisor’s name: size 14 pt, bold, centre.
(5) Subtitles of the abstract and references: size 12pt, bold, centre
(6) Keywords: size 12 pt
(7) Content and list of references: size 12 p
(8) Please, follow the format of “Phytopathology” for references (mark the key references in bold)
